Accessibility
Who can join this
This Nile cruise involves boarding and moving around a river vessel, which requires negotiating gangways, companionway steps and occasional short staircases between decks. Shore excursions include paved temple forecourts, steep stone ramps, uneven ancient stone, and sandy riverbanks, so good balance and mobility help. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are impractical for many temple approaches and some smaller landing stages; folding wheelchairs may be carried on board by arrangement but cannot be guaranteed usable at every site. Onboard public areas have level access between the main deck and dining/lounge areas, though some cabins are accessible only by stairs. If you require assistance, a private representative meets you on arrival at Luxor International Airport or Aswan International Airport, and we arrange assistance where possible. Please contact us before booking with full details of mobility needs so we can assess the route, agree realistic expectations, and note any extra staffing or vehicle requirements.

Children must share a cabin with their parents, with a maximum of one child per cabin; two or more children require their own cabin. Strollers are practical on the vessel gangway and main decks but are difficult to use at many temple landing stages and inside some ancient sites where there are steps and narrow passages. Cribs and high chairs are subject to availability from the cruise supplier; request these at booking and we will confirm with the cruise line.

How we travel here
The cruise uses diesel-engine river cruisers arranged through Egyptian cruise lines; we do not own the vessels. Transfers on shore excursions are by air-conditioned coach or smaller, local motor launches, depending on the landing stage; we prefer coaches with Euro 4 or better engines where available. We work with local Egyptologists, small boat crews and hotel partners we have booked with repeatedly, which helps direct income to riverfront communities in Luxor and Aswan. Shore guides are paid at local market rates and we recommend tipping practices that support individual guides and crew. Single-use plastics are discouraged onboard when the cruise line provides refillable water stations; where single-use water is unavoidable we ask guests to recycle empty bottles in the recycling bins provided. If you wish, we can arrange visits that include small community-run workshops or village visits; these are optional and organised with partner suppliers who give a share of visitor fees to local initiatives. As a licensed Egyptian tour operator, we record supplier details and audit practical sustainability measures when we select a vessel.

Jaz Elite Senator Nile Cruise
The cruise sails between Luxor and Aswan, calling at Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae. The Jaz Elite Senator is an all-suite Nile vessel offering full-board dining and guided excursions. An English-speaking Egyptologist leads small-group visits, limited to a maximum of eight guests per guide. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and arrange meet-and-assist services, private deluxe air-conditioned transfers and the on-the-ground excursions listed. Unlike larger mass-market Nile ships, the Jaz Elite Senator provides all-suite accommodation and typically operates with smaller guided groups, which reduces time waiting at sites. Practical departures run from Luxor or Aswan, with a variety of itinerary lengths available.

MayFair Nile Cruise
Board the MayFair Nile Cruise for a five-star voyage along the Nile, sailing from Luxor to Aswan. It sails from Luxor to Aswan. The cruise follows the river corridor where Karnak, Luxor West Bank, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae are the classic stops along this stretch. We arrange guided visits, local transfers and Egyptologists to join you at the sites. We arrange private guided visits rather than large coach tours, which keeps group sizes smaller and timings more flexible. Unlike day trips run from Luxor, a multi-day cruise moves you between sites instead of returning each evening to one base. Evenings are typically spent on deck, watching river life and hearing short briefings from your Egyptologist. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and coordinate embarkation in Luxor and disembarkation in Aswan.
