Accessibility
Who can join this
This cruise requires moderate mobility: guests should be able to climb 2–4 steps when boarding and disembarking, and walk on uneven stone quays at some shore-excursion landings. Onboard public areas include stairs between decks; some cabins have a single step between corridor and bathroom. Shore excursions involve cobbled temples, narrow tomb passageways, and sandy approaches at riverbank sites, with uneven surfaces and occasional steep ramps. Wheelchair users should notify us at booking so we can advise on suitability for specific excursions; fully independent wheelchair access is limited, and some sites are not wheelchair-accessible. We provide assistance at embarkation and disembarkation where possible, but we cannot guarantee site access for every mobility aid.

How we travel here
We use modern air-conditioned coaches and small launch boats arranged with local suppliers for shore transfers and landings; the vessel itself is assigned by the cruise line and typically meets current Egyptian safety and emissions standards. We source onboard produce and bread from local bakeries in Luxor and Aswan to support small vendors, and we contract Egyptologist guides who live in the region to keep visitor spending local. Single-use plastics are limited onboard where suppliers permit, and linens are laundered according to a water-conserving schedule agreed with the cruise operator. We encourage guests to follow low-impact practices, such as carrying a reusable water bottle and disposing of waste in provided bins.

MayFair Nile Cruise
Board the MayFair Nile Cruise for a five-star voyage along the Nile, sailing from Luxor to Aswan. It sails from Luxor to Aswan. The cruise follows the river corridor where Karnak, Luxor West Bank, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae are the classic stops along this stretch. We arrange guided visits, local transfers and Egyptologists to join you at the sites. We arrange private guided visits rather than large coach tours, which keeps group sizes smaller and timings more flexible. Unlike day trips run from Luxor, a multi-day cruise moves you between sites instead of returning each evening to one base. Evenings are typically spent on deck, watching river life and hearing short briefings from your Egyptologist. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and coordinate embarkation in Luxor and disembarkation in Aswan.
