A first look

This is a four-hour shared quad bike safari from Marsa Alam. At the base you get a safety briefing and try the bike on a practice ride. The guide then leads the group across the desert for about an hour and a half, over sand, small dunes and dry riverbeds. You stop for tea with a Bedouin family before heading back. No experience is needed, and you can ride your own quad or share one. It suits adventurous adults and families who like a morning outdoors.

The morning quad ride is free for under-2s, half fare for ages 2 to 11 and full fare from age 12. Please tell us the age of every young guest on the morning quad ride, as the operator sets minimum ages for this activity.

These fares are a guide, as prices and departure move through the year. Do ask us and we will confirm the fare for the days you have in mind.

  1. 01How is the price for the morning quad ride worked out?
    The figure for the morning quad ride is per person, and it pays for each item in the list of what is included. Our team confirms the figure for the morning quad ride after you send a request, and until then it is provisional. We operate the morning quad ride under ETAA Licence 718 (Category A) and our IATA accreditation, though international flights are not something we sell.
  2. 02What time is hotel collection?
    For the morning quad ride, collection is at about 08:00. For the morning quad ride we cover Marsa Alam town, Port Ghalib and the resorts in between, and we can collect from El Quseir if you ask. Your exact time for the morning quad ride is confirmed when we accept your request, and the driver cannot wait long.
  3. 03Can children join the morning quad ride, and what do they pay?
    Yes. On the morning quad ride, children under 2 travel free, ages 2 to 11 pay half the adult fare, and ages 12 and over pay the full adult fare. Children on the morning quad ride should be happy around water or in the heat, depending on the trip.
  4. 04Is this suitable if I have never ridden a quad?
    No. A safety briefing and a practice ride come first, and the guide leads the group at a steady pace. Tell the team if you feel unsure, and they can slow things down. Riders wear a helmet throughout.
  5. 05Can I cancel or change my booking for the morning quad ride?
    Give us more than 72 hours' notice and you can keep 100% as credit towards a future holiday or have 100% refunded, less bank charges. Between 72 and 24 hours beforehand, keep 100% as credit or have 50% back. Within 24 hours, or if you don't turn up, nothing can be refunded or credited. Should we have to cancel, you won't lose a penny.
  6. 06Can I share a quad, and is the group big?
    Yes. You can ride your own quad or share one with a friend or family member. The group is shared with other guests and capped at 16 people, so everyone rides in a single convoy behind the guide.
