Accessibility
Who can join this
This cruise requires moderate mobility for embarkation, disembarkation and shore excursions. Embarkation uses a gangway with three to six steps and can be wet or uneven when the vessel docks; passengers using wheelchairs will need assistance from our crew or their travel companion. On board, cabins commonly have one or two steps between public areas and cabins, and some cabin doorways are narrower than 80 cm. Shore excursions include walking on cobbles, uneven ancient stone, temple steps and sandy banks, often without handrails. If you use a manual or electric wheelchair, tell us in advance so we can confirm the specific vessel assignment and arrange ramps and extra staff assistance where possible. We cannot guarantee full wheelchair access at all archaeological sites because of historic stairways and narrow tomb passages. If you have limited mobility, oxygen needs, severe heart or respiratory conditions, or require an onboard medical bed, contact us before booking so we can advise whether this cruise is appropriate and confirm medical evacuation plans.

How we travel here
The vessel typically uses modern diesel engines common to Nile cruisers, and we encourage suppliers to operate low-emission engines where available. We ask our selected cruise lines to practice linen reuse, on-board water refill stations to reduce single-use plastics, and responsible waste segregation; compliance is checked when we select a vessel. Shore excursions use small coach transfers with drivers sourced locally, and Egyptologists and guides are contracted directly from the communities visited, ensuring income stays with local suppliers. Ticket fees paid at monuments go to the Egyptian authorities and site conservation programs; private guide fees go to the guide. As a licensed Egyptian tour operator, we monitor supplier labor practices and ask partners to employ local staff. We do not greenwash: where a specific vessel does not meet a requested sustainability standard we will propose alternatives or specify limits at time of booking.
